How to maximize your profits from scrap gold! - gold recovery Questions

Question #1:

Is a 45 year old man dating a 21 year old gross? Both recovering addicts. 1 My bff and the other a gold digger?

A man, who is a recovering addict, that is my good friend, and has enjoyed five + years clean, has recently got involved with a young woman who is dictating his every move. He is 45 and she is 21. She has four months clean. She tells him what to do. He listens.

We have been through every step of his recovery and have shared every moment. We are his family of friends. We are close and have been for more than five years. We have been completely invested in his success. We want him to stay clean and sober for so many reasons.

He has "shared" his life in meetings. His mother died, within the past year, and he inherited money, a house and has a good job. Suddenly, he has embraced her, in spite of his friends, and is allowing her to call the shots. She is an recovering addict, with four months clean, and at 21 has two children. She has told him he could not maintain his current relationships and will not allow him to keep the friends he has made in the past five years.

She has brought "drama" into the family of friends we established. Most of us are done with the drama. Never having met her, we are constantly presented with new drama. We are getting tired. I am the only one hanging on for his success.

I still care about him. I see that she is making him loose the stability he has achieved in the past five years. I do not know what to do. I have hard heart felt conversations with him that only turn on me because of what she says.

We all fear that he is going down the wrong road and a relapse is in the making. I want the best for him, but cannot compete.

This girl is getting him to leave all that is stable to him. His friends, his family and potentially, his job are all at stake. He sees nothing. He thinks it is hot to do a 21 year old! His childish penis is speaking volumes, but his friends still love him!

How much can you love a recovering addict? Should you let it go? If he does not see the fire burning in front of him; should we?

His recent decisions are flawed. To dismiss your friends as family for more than five years to indulge yourself in a troubled young woman, with big issues, and be willing to give it all up for her is serious.

I do not know what to do. Should I let him go? Should our whole family of friends let him go? It is his life to live. We have all invested so much to keep him clean. Should we just say enough?

Question #2:

Protein/ P90X question?

What do you guys think is better, the P90X recovery drink or amplified wheybolic extreme from GNC? Im on the 5th week of P90X. I just finished my old protein. Which one tastes better and helps more? Or is there a different kind of protein you like? I just finished up optimum nutrition 100% whey gold standard.

Question #3:

gold recovery from pcb?

i have a few tons of ram, cpus and graphics cards. I want to extract the precious metals from this scrap. I havent decided what method to use yet. However, i *think* the best thing to do would be to grind up everything into one big powder/fine grain mix, and process that. Alternatively i could remove the gold fingers and just process them - but i would be losing the rest of whats on the board. Having got a lot of scrap, i would have thought id be wasting a lot of precious metal.

The next thing is, i might decide to use electricity to remove the metals.....will that still be an option if i grind it all up to a powder? I cant see why, but im still a bit new to this. My thoughts are that grinding the scrap up and pouring it in water would help seperate the stuff that floats and the stuff that doesnt! But then that assumes a bit of gold isnt stuck to a bigger bit of floaty stuff......

basically, i am not going to sell this stuff. I am going to get the gold out myself. I am learning and reading about the chemicals etc, but i dont have any questions about chemistry as such....just really wondering how to go about processing this lot!!! That why im thinking grinding it all up first

any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks :)

Question #5:

Very Easy Chemistry Problem 10 Point I forgot how to do?

For many years the recovery of gold-that is, the seperation of gold from other materials-involved the use of potassium cyanide:

4AU + 8KCN + 02 +2H20 -> 4KAu(CN)2 + 4KOH

What is the minimum amount of KCN in moles needed to extract 29.0 g (about an ounce) of gold?

Now my question is one of the proper equations as I don't know what symbol to use for which quantity...

I understand that

mass = (molecular mass)(moles of mass)
were mass has units of grams, g, symbol used curvy M, mass of each element in the compound times subscripts of the element i.e. C2 would be 2(12.00g) = 24.00 g
mole of mass is the coeficent before the compound in the balanced reaction equation

m = Mn

I then would go to use subscripts were if the question asked about a compound on in part of the reactant balanced equation I would just use a R for a subscript and a Y for yield

now this problem bothers me

dividing the equation above by Mn I get

m/(Mn) = 1

and then go do the problem but sense the question is making reference to two reactants I had to use A and B for subscripts as well were A is the gold compound and B is the KCN compound

(m_R_A)/( (M_R_A)(n_R_A) ) = (m_R_B)/( (M_R_B)(n_R_B) )

solving for m_R_B

( (m_R_A)(M_R_B)(n_R_B) )/( (M_R_B)(n_R_B) ) = m_R_B

now my probelm is that I know that m_R_A is given in the problem 29.0 g so I now that m = Mn solving for n I get m/M I need to solve for n so clearly then

(m_R_B)/(M_R_B) = n_R_B = ( (m_R_A)(n_R_B) )/( (M_R_B)(n_R_B) )

clearly my use of symbols is wrong but it makes sense were n_R_B is the is the 8 and also what the probelm is asking for me clearly a probelm but here is what I did

( (29.0 g Au)(8 mol KCN) )/( (197.0 (g Au)/(mol Au))(4 mol Au) ) = .294 mol KCN

clearly this is a probelm even though its write because in the equation I said that KCN was 8 moles but when I solved I got .294 mol KCN are these two different values because they are both the amount of moles of KCN

I'm kind of confused please let me know how to make sense of this in my equation and understand how they are different and the symbols I should use to indicate so as I don't know how to do this please let me know if you don't understand

Question #6:

A 10% GDP growth for the Philippines, is it doable?

A Manila daily came out with this article: "Monetary authorities believe that the country’s domestic output as measured by the gross domestic product (GDP) could grow in double-digit levels if the administration of President Aquino is able to put in place much needed physical infrastructure and at the same time develop human capital to pave the way for the entry of more investments into the country........"

"BSP Deputy Governor Diwa Guinigundo said the Philippines could register a higher GDP growth of 10 percent if the new government manages to pursue key infrastructure projects that would help sustain the strong economic recovery in the first quarter of the year."

It is really a big IF. Not to sound pessimistic but it is mouthful. Short term, it is highly improbable considering the monkies still on its back: power shortage, big budget deficit, corruption, poor infrastructure and food production shortfall. The biggest derailers are the slow and anemic takeoff of the biggest economies of the world like the U.S. and the EU which are the markets for our exports like electronics, clothing, precious metals copper, nickel and gold.

I think this is no time for bravado. Let us just work hard to hurdle these initial roadblocks and keep our fingers crossed. We can shout to the heavens later.

What do you think?

Question #7:

What are US troops smuggling back from Afghanistan these days?

From WWII until now US troops have always managed to ship home valuable 'war trophies'. When I was a kid there was a man in town had a large barn chock-full of WWII weaponry, silk rising star belly-flags taken off dead Japanese, a jar full of Japanese gold teeth taken from the dead at Guadalcanal. My step-dad had a foot-locker full of similar items taken in North Africa. So did every other veteran, most likely, though I only knew of a dozen or so.

When I was in Korea during the Kennedy reign it was gold. The US forbade ownership of gold currency etc, driving the price of gold upward. In Korea anyone with the money could buy solid 18 carat gold heavy jewelry-like items and ship it home in whatever quantity they could afford. Many did, selling it by weight back home for a lot more than they paid for it in US script overseas. In Japan it was ivory at that time.

Nobody can even guess how many thousands of tons of forbidden war loot, contraband, drugs and drug paraphanelia were sent by toops serving in Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand.

Given the long tradition and the blind eye that's always been turned to it by authorities, both military and civilian, it's probably still going on.

What are US troops smuggling home from Afghanistan to assist their financial recovery when they return? Particularly the National Guardsmen and Army Reserves, they've left their jobs a goodly while and lost money doing it. Mightn't even have jobs when they go inactive.

Surely there's an underground wink and nod blackmarket syphon in place to keep them Patriotic.

What's in Afghanistan for them to ship home?
but I love you: That goes with the territory. So long as the bodycounts coming back are lower than the ones left behind it's considered a win.

No other way to tell who is winning.

But in Vietnam era they actually caught a whole stateside/Vietnam bodybag shipping unit bringing home heroin with the dead. Zipped it in there, recovered it stateside.

Win/win. But they got greedy and exceeded the allowable limits evidently.

Question #11:

I wish to warn as many people as possible of the risk of dealing with Alibaba.com?

I wish to warn as many people as possible of the risk of dealing with companies listed on Alibaba.com. Alibaba cannot be trusted, they list bogus companies who offer goods at very low prices, accept payment via TT and do not send the goods. Alibaba is no better than these companies as it makes money from their dishonest activities and lists many of them as Gold Suppliers implying that they are honest traders. Alibaba will not help people who have been robbed in the recovery of their money and will not take any responsibility for the loss. Please avoid Alibaba and the companies they list. I am speaking from experience; I lost a large sum of money dealing with a Gold Supplier who proved to be a fraud.

Question #12:

Gamertag recovery help Xbox 360?

After wasting my main email accounts on the free gold trials when i got my 360 (retarded thing to do) i created a random email account for when i got my 12 month gold subscription. 3 happy months into this gold subscription my 7 year old cousin manages to format my hard drive. My problem now is i can't remember my Windows live ID, however i know my password (i only use 3 different passwords) my gamertags name and stuff etc etc, i cant recover my account without my ID, and microsoft wont give me my windows live ID because i cant remember some of the details (security question and mobile number) and ive potentially lost 8 and a bit months of gold subscription. Anything i can do?
Note: I HAVE rung microsoft, and got served by a guy who couldnt spell my gamertag the irst 3 tries, then again by a woman who evidently was not qualified to help people. Both situations i couldnt remember My secret question or mobile number (i get a new number every month so i;ve not a clue what i had when i set this email up, and i didnt know i was supposed to remember the Quesion AND the answer) i had my address age name etc right, but without those 2 bits of info they cant help :(

Question #13:

Nobody mentioned or cared about an England Legend - Norbert "Nobby" Peter Stiles who suffered a stroke?

i heard or think hes recovering and recovering well etc.

I feckin hope so.

btw - considered posting this in the 'English Football' section, but realised he was part of the legendary FIFA World CUp England side of 1966, so it was only SANE to post a question relating this man in the 'FIFA WORLD CUP' section.

" Stiles played the majority of his club career for Manchester United, spending eleven years at Old Trafford, where he became renowned for his tough tackling and ball winning qualities. With the Red Devils, he won two League titles and one European Cup. Stiles is one of only three Englishmen, alongside Bobby Charlton and Ian Callaghan, to have won both the FIFA World Cup and European Cup. " - Wikipedia.

I want him to watch Rooney, Gerrard, Lampard, Terry and the rest of the lads go the distance and bring the 'Gold' home :-)

Didn't a single 'Man United' fan on the EPL regs section even bother to bring Nobby's stroke incident up ?

he was after all - as UNITED as they came, being born n bred a Manc and having won two titles with the club and the 1968 European Cup/Champions LEague.

oh and he was one of the England boys of 1966 who went the distance and lifted that trophy...the one that eluded us for 44 years.

Hope hes made a full recovery or is recovering well - England Legend. None of the lads in our current team are legends as they haven't won the world cup yet.

Nobby is a Legend.

Nobby Stiles > Current England team.

get well soon Nobby.
its unfair to compare soldiers to sporting icons and legends though mate.

they are heroes in a different way.

Nobby Stiles is one of the greatest footballers England produced, the magic of 1966 featured 11 great players , the likes of which we may NEVER see again....

RIP ALAN BALL

Legend also.

Question #14:

Can I sue Xbox 360 for delayed account recovery?

So I bought a new xbox in March of 2010 after I sold my old one back in 2007. I had a xbox live account with lots of arcade games, rep points and I wanted to recover it. I got the account back but unfortunately according to microsoft it is "locked" - meaning I cant have xbox gold or add any microsoft points on it. I have called xbox live customer care more than 50 times and still my account is locked.

I was told many times that It would be taken care of within 2 days, then 5 days tops, then a week, then 2 week etc. So its been pretty much 3 going on 4 months now and Im getting really irritated especially since I got the xbox for my little brother to play on. Do i have a case against microsoft? I have spent at least 20+ hours on the phone, wasted lots of my time, been lied to many times by xbox care reps and my account is still not functioning.
My main argument is that xbox is negligient in addressing this issue. I paid money to access a service and buy products(arcade games) and now I am locked out of my property and service that I spent money on without me breaking there contract. Not to mention the countless amount of times I have been lied to by Xbox live reps in investigating this issue.

Question #16:

Are there key indicators of a New Depression?

With the mainstream media focusing on the country’s leveling unemployment rate, improving retail sales, and nascent housing recovery, one might think that the US government has successfully navigated the economy through recession and growth has returned. But I will argue that a look under the proverbial hood reveals a very different picture. I believe the data shows that the US economy is badly damaged, and a modern-day depression has begun. In fact, just as World War I was originally called The Great War (and was retroactively renamed after World War II), Peter Schiff has said that one day the world will refer to the 1929-41 era as Great Depression I, and the current period as Great Depression II.

For starters, look at unemployment. During Great Depression I, unemployment broke 25%. If government statistics are taken at face value, the current unemployment rate is 9.9%, but a closer look reveals that the broadest measure of unemployment is currently at 20% – and rising. So, today’s numbers are in the same ballpark as the ’30s even though the federal government is using unprecedented measures to keep the economy afloat. Remember, in Great Depression I, FDR never ran a deficit nearly as large as President Obama’s. Moreover, the Federal Reserve of the 1930s still had a gold standard with which to contend, while today’s Fed has increased the monetary base with impunity. Yet even with all that intervention, unemployment figures still indicate that we have entered depression territory.
